Virtual Hackathon and Summit

Held online with the U.S. Department of State and World Learning, She Power 1.0 combined a national hackathon with a three-day summit to spotlight issues that matter to Indian women. The hackathon invited women-founded/co-founded startups to build solutions in security, hygiene, and re-skilling, amplifying founders and actionable ideas across India.

Problem Statement

Women’s Reskilling

COVID-induced unemployment has reduced the income of the majority. Even if the pandemic gets controlled, old practices will be eliminated. It will be difficult to go ahead without upskilling or reskilling. Do you have reskilling platforms or solutions for women?

Women’s Safety

In public and cyberspaces, women’s safety is under threat. She is safe neither on the road nor at home. And, faces cyberattack on social media and cyberspace. Do you have simple security solutions to help her across all spaces?

Women’s Hygiene

Our country lacks clean toilets in public spaces and highways. Unhygienic situations create grave health issues among women. Are there economic and hygienic solutions for this?

SHE POWER 1.0 WINNERS

Women’s issues were discussed on all three days of the summit, as young entrepreneurs presented unique ideas at the hackathon and presented prototypes. Star in Me was adjudged the winner. The first runner-up was Team Karma, and the second runner-up was Team EcoRich Technologies. Special mention went to Team Pinkpal. Prize money worth Rs. 1 lakh was awarded to the winners.
